Paul Wing perfected his photographic style over 30 years behind film and video cameras in television broadcasting. Over that time, his film and video work was recognized by many professional organizations in the field, including ACRTA, RTNDA, Can Pro, and the Canadian Society of Cinematographers. which awarded Paul the prestigious national award " Best Cinematography/News Feature" five times for his outstanding visuals.
His approach to still photography is as varied as his subject matter. From glowing landscapes to urban studies, his work has been described as "ethereal". "mysterious", and "painterly".
When framing a shot, Paul aims to create a non-literal representation, hoping the viewer will appreciate the abstract or sculptural qualities of the subject. He pushes the process even further through post digital enhancement, seeking to bridge the gap between photography and digital art.
Paul's work has been accepted into juried shows, competitions, and art tours and he has mounted five solo exhibits over past four years. He has completed photographic commissions, and donated works to several charitable organizations.
Paul's photographs have become increasingly popular with collectors, with works in collections in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal,St. Catharines and Ottawa.
Paul is represented in Ottawa by Wall Space Gallery.
